Memorial Park

We went to Memorial Park a few times this summer. The kids love playing by the water. Not sure how I was able to talk them into taking a few pictures, but I love the mountains in the background.

Lil Kickers

The kids did a couple of sessions of Lil Kickers. The both had a great time. I was able to get a few cute shots of them playing soccer on the last day.

Swimming with Daddy

During Ross' time off before I started work we headed to the pool with Daddy to get in so mommy could take pictures and videos. The kids had a blast showing off for the camera. I of course loved just being able to watch!

Kayden's Bug Party

Kayden asked for a Spiderman birthday party. We had his party at the Bear Creek Nature Center and it was fabulous. The guide did a puppet show for the kids about insects. Then each child got a bug catcher and the guide took the kids on a walk and let them catch bugs. He brought a big white sheet and the kids would sweep their nets across the ground and I was shocked at all the bugs we saw. The kids had a blast. Kayden did not want anyone to sing Happy Birthday so we just had cupcakes and snakes. We had a fun day. The nature center had tons of hands on activities for the kids to play with before and after the party. It was the perfect place for all the preschoolers.

Kayden Turned Three

The best thing about Kayden (maybe boys) is he does not need much to be entertained. He makes something out of nothing. The only thing he asked for was batman, so we gave him a batman helicopter and he loved it. We had donuts for breakfast and cupcakes for his birthday, but he refused for us (Ross, Kendal, and I) to sing Happy Birthday to him. He also told me no singing at his party. Funny kid!

First Purchase

Kendal gets a quarter for every extra chore she does around the house to help. She saved her quarters until she had $13.00 to buy this Thumbelina doll. She was very proud of herself.

Prissy Pants

No idea what this outfit is!?!?!?!

Swim

We did as much swimming outdoors as we could this summer. We had an unusually chilly summer. I am so happy at how much the kids love to swim.

Tired little boy
On occassion I could talk some friends into meeting us at the pool. We sure miss Price and Wesley!

BBQ Shrimp and Crawfish

Some of our good friends are moving to Germany in August. We get together with them about once a month and brew beer. I decided to do something a little different when we got together with them. I found some already cooked crawfish and shrimp at a good price at Whole Foods so I bought it. I made New Orleans BBQ shrimp and it was AWESOME! Kayden was calling it chicken but the kids loved it. We are certainly going to miss this family while they are gone but they should be back in a year!

Kayden's First Swim Lesson

This summer Kayden is taking a private swim lesson every Tuesday and Thursday while Ross and I are on the pool deck together coaching. The lesson lasts 30 minutes. He has done really well and is going under water and jumping off the side to his teacher. He feels like big stuff. These are from his first lesson.
