Hiking
We drove about 30 miles south to Devil's Head Trail Head which is on the outskirts of Pike National Forest. We hiked one and half miles with a 1000 feet incline. On the way up it seemed gradual, but when we were coming back down we noticed how steep it really was. It was a beautiful hike. At the top was Devil's Head Tower, which is the last manned Lookout Tower for Pike National Forest. The lookout tower is an additional 143 stairs straight up. I decided to skip climbing over 100 steps, but Ross went half way. There is a cabin for the lookout to live in with electricity, but no running water. We got a few good shots before the battery in the camera completely died, so no pictures of the top.

Happy Memorial Day!
Ross, Kendal, and I went to a swim team BBQ in Highlands Ranch this afternoon. The house was down a dirt road and the woman's home whom we went to described herself as having a "hill billy home". Ross said "hill billy homes" in Colorado are much better than the ones we are use to in Louisiana. We parked on the street and had to climb a big hill to get to the house. They had a raised deck overlooking Denver, a pond, and a beautiful home. Needless to say we had a wonderful time. Kendal loved playing with Joe and Anna by the pond. At one point she was trying to jump into the pond. Here are some of the pictures I got today.
Joe, Anna, and Kendal throwing rocks into the pond.

Joe and Sam looking for a crawfish, which there actually was a huge one that kept crawling out of the water.

Kendal seems to play nicely with others by sharing toys and snacks. The dog really wanted a bite of her cookie and she got really mad at the dog. She even smacked the dog on its backside.
So she stuffed almost the whole cookie in her mouth and this is her telling the dog "no no".

Swimming
We take Kendal swimming as often as possible. We also have dumped water over her head since she was born to make sure she would be comfortable in the water. She loves her bath and loves to swim. She is willing to jump into the water and swim to you. Basically she is just floating, but she holds her breath and opens her eyes under water. These are skills she has aquired merely from taking her swimming. Here is our bathing beauty!

Dress Up
I found Kendal in my room yesterday with one of my shirts on and she refused to take it off. This is her with the shirt on playing with her new ball!

Sign Language
We have been working with Kendal on sign language since she was about 7 months old. She can sign quite a few words now, such as apple, banana, drink, eat, more, please, thank you, couch, computer, tree, etc. I have been trying to get her to sign for the video, so here are a few of her words that she does. http://media.putfile.com/Signing-93

Cheyenne, Wyoming
Late posting...................our house has been super busy therefore I have not posted anything in quite sometime. Last weekend the three of us went to Cheyenne, Wyoming to add another state to all of our lists and to see what Wyoming is like. It was extremely windy and nobody was around. Most shops were closed and this is the dead season for them.
