Zoo Birthday Party!!!!!!

I asked Kendal several times what type of birthday party she would like and EVERYTIME she said an animal party. This weekend we had her birthday party at the zoo. We went with an African theme party. When we arrived at the zoo the party host brought us to the party room and then had the kids line up at the "Special Exploration door" to the room for "special explorers". As soon as we walked into the room there was a huge cage with two huge Macaws. Kendal immediately said "That's a macaw and they eat bananas"! The host talked about all sorts of animals from different parts of Africa. They even got to pet a hedehog! I think she had an amazing time.

My precious girl's special day!!!!!!!!!

My precious girl turned 3 on Friday. I cannot believe it on so many levels. She is so wonderful. I have loved being parent so much. I wanted her birthday to be wonderful and it was. She has wanted a zebra cake and an animal birthday for months. Kayden woke her up with his present to her, a Little Einstein baton. She loved it. She was able to open the rest of her presents in the afternoon. She got a HUGE balloon bouquet from Gram and Gramp. We had our neighbors over for pizza and cake. She was so happy. Happy Birthday to my beautiful girl.
Kendal admiring her cake. The cake. Singing happy birthday to the birthday girl.

Here she is in her pjs, from last year which she is unwilling to give up, playing a game she got from Aunt Shelley. She loves it.

Blast from the Past

I got a phone call about two months ago from an old swimmer of Ross and I's, Katy L. She said she was coming to town to visit to see if she would be interested in moving here after she graduates from college. I took the kids to Denver to meet up with her. It was so wonderful to see her. We would love it if she moves to Colorado.

Halloween Day Festivities!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been having trouble with blogger so here are the belated Halloween pictures. It was a wonderful day. I made pumpkin pancakes for breakfast (one of my kids favorites)! Then for lunch we had a Jack O Lantern Pizza. It is a tradition at our house to have Chili for dinner and then go trick or treating. Our neighbors with kids a little bit older then Kendal came over and asked us to trick or treat with them. So off we went. Ross and I both thought we would make about 5 houses and then that would be all the kids could handle. (For you folks in the south it was about 38 degrees at 6pm!) We trick or treated 15 houses and then headed home. They both would go to the door and say "trick or treat" and thank the people. They both carried their own buckets and waited until we got home to open their candy. Needless to say we let them eat as much candy as they wanted when we got home and then I threw the rest away. Everyone we would pass on the street and everyone that came to the door Kendal would say "Happy Halloween Guys!" Can't wait until next year.
Kendal loving her chili and ready to go get some candy!Kayden was happy too! This is the first house we went to. In the group there was an IRS tax collector, Star Wars guy (maybe Jim P will know), doctor, clown, happy witch, and spider. Mr Spider checking out his two candy that we swiped from the bowl. He definetly is becoming Swiper. Mr Spider taking a break to make sure his suckers were still in there. Kendal running to catch up with the big kids. Mr Spider running to catch up with the big kids. Checking out their loot. And look whose big nose is in the middle. And check out what Kayden picked out of his bucket.
